Mural Repair Prep

So I have received photos from the field of the whole mural at the CEML Hospital in Lubango, Angola in the state it is in presently, noting all the repairs needed especially along the top. You can see from the photo that I have sketched over the photos planning out both the drawing needed as well as the various sections of colour. There are a number of places along the lower sections of the wall that have either cracks or places where the mortar has flaked off. I believe these will have to be fixed with mortar over certain spots first. Then, a white primer will be added to the repaired areas. Once the mortar and primer is dry I can begin the painting. I think I will paint in sections about 8-10 feet wide at a time, and also go over parts of the mural that have faded in order to make it fresh. I plan to use a regular outdoor latex paint, and if possible I’ll add a varnish to the entire wall following the painting being completed. This should hopefully take only about 10-14 days of our trip, with a few hours of painting a day.
